British "Batty" Copper "Indian Hunter" Powder Flask
Description:
This is a British made "Batty" Copper gun powder flask, measuring 8" overall with an adjustable measuring spout on the top. The common topped rotating powder door still works and the spring is strong. The adjustable charger has 4 different notches for powder charge size. The body is embossed with a full Native American hunting figure, complete with Tomahawk in a wooded landscape, standing next to a felled deer. This appears never to be cleaned with a wonderful patina, a few small dents, two upper strap bolts with rings, solid side seams and in over-all excellent condition, flask dates to the 1850's. This flask is described in "The Powder Flask Book" by Ray Rilings on page 302.
