MAUSER .22 TARGET REAR SIGHT, for ES350B, VG working order, Pre-war, SUPER RARE!
Description:
$595.00 or Best Offer Plus $20.00 for shipping. SOLD. This listing is for a VERY RARE and SCARCE GERMAN MAUSER MODEL ES350B, Cal. .22 Target rear sight. This gun sight is an original MAUSER target rear sight that is triple signed with the serial number of 406 in 3 places-see photos. This gun sight is the correct rear sight for the MAUSER MODEL ES350B and the MS350B target rifles. I am selling this sight only to be used for just for those 2 rifles and if the buyer wants to use this sight for another rifles, please do not buy it! This sight slides along the top of the grooved barrel. The sight has windage and elevation adjustments. The sight is in very good working order as I have spray lubed it and tested it on my Mauser ES350B rifle. This rare sight is only for knowledgeable collectors and shooters who know how to operate this sight correctly without causing any damage to it. Please email me any questions or concersns BEFORE you buy it. I bought this sight from the estate of an old time gunsmith. All sight controls and adjustments work as they should. The windage knob works fine, but the movement is a bit stiff when moving the sight bar to the right, but, this should ease up with use and of course, better to be a little hard to move the knob, then to have a loose gear that has been subject to heavy use! The only issue that I can see is that the tab bar that unlocks the sight bar for removal has been broken off-see photo. This means that if the buyer wants to remove the sight bar and reverse it to change the sight notch from a "V" to a "U", they may have to use a small thin screwdriver to put into the hole to unlock the sight bar. I have not tried to do that as I do not want to risk any possible damage and do not know if that would work, so, I will let the buyer decide what to do about it. The alternative sight notch is a "U" and since the front sight should match with a rounded bead fron sight and most ES350B rifles have only one front sight blade and most have the "flat" blade, so, the "V" notch is the correct notch for my sight and I would just leave it as it is. I consider this issue to be a very minor one, but, if it bothers the buyer, then just don't buy this sight as I am selling it "AS IS". I have uploaded 12 large and well detailed photos for the buyer to evaluate the sight. These vintage target sights are seldom offered for sale and when they are, they are very expensive. I know, as years ago, I bought one on eBay and I paid a lot for it! My recent market reseach shows that these MAUSER target rear sights are even hard to find in Europe, per Jon Speed, the author of the Mauser .22 book that is still considered to be the top authority on these rifles! This target rear sight is just fine as a fully functionally working sight just the way it is and it will greatly enhance both the appearance and the value of any rifle it is placed on! This rare sight won't last long, so, if you need it, better buy it now or regret it for many years. I know, as this happened to me over the years! The sale and shipping is only to the 50 U.S. States only (no international sales). The sight will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail, hard box, extra cardboard and foam, full insurance, tracking number and due to the rarity and high value, a signature is required due to the rising number of mailbox and porch thefts by "porch pirates". I am over 70 now and have been selling my lifetime collection of guns and accessories. Please email me any questions BEFORE you buy. The only form of payment is by money order, any type (Walmart, gorocery store, Circle K, 7-11, banks, credit unions, Post Office,etc.). RETURN POLICY: 3 day inspection and return, BUT NO DISASSEMBLY and the sight must be returned in the exact condition that the seller shipped it. If the buyer wishes to return the sight for any reason, the buyer will lose original shipping and must pay for the return shipping by using the exact method used by the seller. The buyer must also email the seller of their intention to return the sight within the 3 day inspection period. Thank you for looking. SOLD.
