Description:
Garand M-1 Winchester op rod. This rod is original not an aftermarket. It is NOS or refinished. Parkerizing is a darkish black but looks lighter under bright light. Under bright light you can see some "reddish" areas but these areas are not pitting or rust. I wiped them down with mineral spirits but it did not remove them and I don't want to experiment with anything stronger. They are only here and there on some areas. They are not easy to discern in normal room light. I have owned all the rods listed on GI for over 40 years. The tip is mint. No rust or pitting but there is one area just behind the tip that has a couple of lines in it. ( See pic#14, next to last) The Parkerizing is down in these lines so they existed when finished. There is no evidence of wear anywhere. Rod is the cut version so it may have been refinished after the cut was milled in or it may have been made that way. Don’t know. Single punch mark on top of op rod handle. Shipping charges will be to buyer zip code plus post office $4.00 charge for box over 20”. Payment by postal m.o., bank check or money order. Person checks accepted if you are willing to wait until they clear.
