CIVIL WAR FEDERAL ARTILLERY FOOT OFFICERS SHORT SWORD

This appears to be an early,1820s-1830s pertiod, Federal Artillery short sword and not like any I have encountered previously. If you have specific info about this please contact me with that. The blade is unmarked with the federal style fullers cut into both sides of the hand forged blade. The handle is fluted bone almost identical to those found on the very early mIlitia swords, and the pommel is separately cast with the Federal eagle very finely articulated. The tang is peened to complete the construction. A very well made weapon and servicable as such. This may be a specially made item or small batch of pieces made for a unit, this is speculation as I cannot find another like this. I will consider reasonable offers.
