USMC RIFLE SCOPE

Description:
This LYMAN TARGETSPOT SCOPE is clearly period marked USMC. The 20X scope has clear optics and fine cross hairs that are intact and functional. The mounts are ¼ minute click adjustable. The original two screw in lens covers and the hardened rubber eyecup are included. These SUPER TARGETSPOT scopes were made from 1942 until 1978. The scope serial number is 1468, I can find no serial number listing or total quantity made for these scopes, but it certainly seems an early number. If we knew how many were made over this 36 year period we could extrapolate and get a good estimate on the date. Early WW2 I would bet.
The scope is packaged in the original wooden case marked “USMC PROPERTY” and “SUPER TARGETSPOT” / “USMC”.  An identical USMC scope case is shown on the NRA Museum homepage with a Winchester M-70 rifle.
If you have the proper M-1903 Springfield rifle you are in luck. If I had one this wouldn’t be for sale, and I’m looking.

RETURNS:
Returns must be made within 3 days of receipt. They must be received in exactly the same condition. If it has been altered or damaged a refund will not be made.  Packing, shipping and insurance cost will not be refunded.  All layaway purchases are returnable for merchandise credit only.

Bank check, Personal check, and Money Orders are preferred. Visa and MasterCard are accepted with a 4% processing fee.
 LAYAWAYS: 
A 20% deposit is required.  Balance is due in 60 days. Deposits are non-refundable and are forfeited after 70 days.  Layaway sales are returnable for merchandise credit only.
SALES TAX: 
Pennsylvania state sales tax is 6% for in-state purchases. The payment of other states sales tax, if applicable, for shipped items is the buyers responsibility.
