Original WW2 German Model 1942 Single Decal Luftwaffe Helmet
Description: This is an attractive original helmet, made by Eisenhüttenwerke in Thale ("ET" code on the inside of the neck flare) that has a size 66 shell, and a size 58 internal suspension web. The exterior retains most of the original blue-gray paint, with numerous small marks, scratches, and minor blemishes scattered evenly about the surface. The left side of the crown has a Luftwaffe eagle decal, about 75-80% of which remains. The decal has some minor surface crazing from age, but has good original color, and quite crisp details still remaining. The zinc and leather suspensionon the interior are likewise in fine shape, although the sizing cord at the top is no longer present. The original leather chinstrap is also still present, with worn and scuffed, but intact and still serviceable leather and buckle. This is a fine-near excellent example of a later war production Luftwaffe "stahlhelm," and would make a splendid addition to any WW2 collection or display. SOLD |
