Early WW2 KA-BAR USMC Red Spacer High Condition Original Blued Blade

Description:
A very nice example of a very rare WW2 knife, the earliest variation of the Ka-Bar fighting knife. This is a super early Mark 2 fighting knife made by KA-BAR and marked on the ricasso "KA-BAR OLEAN NY" and "USMC" on the opposite side. The blade is blued and the handle is stacked leather washers with a red spacer between the leather and the steel guard. On early knives like this the pommel is thinner and is peened, the handle is thinner in the hand and the guard is a more square shape than the later guards. This knife retains roughly 85-90% of the original bluing on the blade with some light to normal signs of wear and handling, handle is tight with no cracked or dry leather washers and there is no sign of rust anywhere. The sheath is an original WW2 leather MK2 USN marked sheath but is not the original one to the knife, just the one I got it in. Overall a very rare knife in very good condition.
