Ranch bunkhouse made steer horn hat rack
Description: Bunkhouse made art created from what was found around the ranch. During the days when horse back was the main mode of transportation ranch hands had very little choice for entertainment. He could ride 2 hours to the nearest town after already having spent all day in the saddle or send two hours making something with his hands. Making a horn hat rake was a useful item and require more imagination and creativity than a nail in the wall. The needed material was at hand, and any tools needed were in the tool shed. For the leather carving all that was needed was a couple of sharp nails. So why not create something. He might be able to sell or trade such things and that help to add to his $30.00 a month and found. Furniture companies added a sideline of horn furniture. Individuals, some on a large and others on a small scale, began to make chairs, tables, hall-trees, hat-racks and other items from cattle horns. The finished products were as varied as the imagination of the makers. This is a four-horn steer hat rack. These horns are in excellent shape and added to the mounting so they are ready to hang on your wall and add to your Western decor. Price: $249.95 Buy Now Contact Seller |
