Rare Civil War D.C. Sage Colt's Army 44 Caliber Percussion Ammo Packet
Description: This is a full packet, "Six Seamless Skin" cartridges, of .44 Caliber ammo "FOR COLT'S ARMY PISTOL" manufactured by D.C. Sage in Middletown, Connecticut who was in business from 1861-1866 using the Julius Hotchkiss (a principal in the business), No. 34,367 patent from February 11, 1862 for "Improvement in Skin Cartridges". The paper wrapped wood ammo packet is full with at least 4 of the skin cartridges being replaced by lead bullets with paper underneath and the original packet of percussion caps. It looks like the other 2 rounds could be original. The packet has about 90+% of the outer wrapper remaining with very good graphics on the front with an opening along the top allowing a look inside at the bullet tips and paper packet of percussion caps in the 7th hole. A great looking and rarely seen Civil War percussion packet specifically for the Colt Army revolver. Price: $645.00 Contact Seller |
