Description:
Illinois scarce 19 jewel Railroad grade Chronometer
running perfect. Usually 17 or 21 jewels. To be Railroad grade they had to be a minimum of 17 jewels, open face, lever set, 12 at the stem, adjusted to temperature and position in at least 5 positions Keeping time within 20 seconds a day.
if you've ever heard the old saying. Better be on the Ball. It's referring to Ball Railroad Standards
