This is a fine example of a British Type 317 knife. This knife was made by the Wade & Butcher Co. of Sheffield England. It is stamped with the Broad Arrow, W&SB and the date 1943. There is some light oxidation on the blades and spike but the knife shows very little use with the main blade showing almost NO sharpening. Many other original knives have main blades that have been severely altered by repeated sharpening. All of the blade open with a sharp snap and without wobble, including the spike. Nearly 4" closed, main blade 2 3/8th", spike 2 ¾".
