Original WW2 Imperial Japanese Army Officer's Samurai Sword & Scabbard w/ Leather Combat Cover ** G.I. War Trophy / Signed under Handle **

Description:
This is a very handsome and classy World War 2 -used Imperial Japanese Army Officer's Samurai Sword and scabbard that was brought back as a war trophy by an American G.I. from the Pacific Theatre.  It is signed under the handle, and it is equipped with beautiful and unique original fittings / handle hardware that are NOT the standard I.J.A. issue that you see on most WW2 Japanese katana / samurai swords.   This Showa-period sword has a beautiful signature that has deep and crisp kanji / characters. This sword is in great all-original condition just as it was brought back, with a handsome blade that shows a beautiful temper line all the way to the tip on both sides.  The blade has a clean and very sharp cutting edge with no chips, cracks, or major flaws/damage visible.  * NOTE * THE BUTTON SNAP IS NO LONGER ON THE SWORD HANDLE, it was extremely dry-rotted and hanging by a thread when we got it and the other half of the snap on the leather scabbard cover was already missing.  The leather tab and snap has since fallen off the handle, and we replaced the gap that it left with a period-original and handsome brass spacer with a tooled edge to keep the Tsuka (handle), the Tsuba (crossguard) and Habiki (sleeve around base of blade) nice and tight to the blade with no wiggle or slop in it.                                                                      PRICE:    $1,495             We are Antique & Modern Firearms in Lexington, KY, dealer of fine firearms since 1974.                    PH. 859-276-1419         We Buy, Sell and Trade Firearms & Knives.    Have a Individual Firearm,  Firearms Collection, or Firearms Estate to sell, let us know, we can buy or consignment sell it for you.                   NOTE:  No additional fee for a Credit Card payment.
