This M1 Carbine stock is a very early production I-Cut, High Wood, dark walnut set that includes the matching dark walnut two rivet Hand Guard. Stock is ID stamped SJ in the sling well and the Hand Guard is stamped PJ on the bottom mounting surface. Both parts show no cracks but do have a few minor battle marks, but no cracks. The color and finish is matching for both. Sorry, NO metal hardware included.
I doubt this stock has been refinished, because the cross cannon cartouche and R.A.- J.L. on the right side, and the R.A.-J.L. on the left butt stock are easily visible. The cross cannons are identified as Standard Products ID. R.A. - J.L. armorer stamps to the limits of my research are from Rartian Arsenal in Bohamtown, New Jersey which employed chief inspector J.L. Guion after WWII.
This set would make almost any early M1 Carbine more attractive and correct.
