This is a .74 caliber British 1842 Lancer's Pattern Pistol barrel. The barrel measures 227mm (9 inches) and has numerous military crown proof marks. For reference see R.E. Brooker Jr. British Military Pistols 1603-1888 pgs 69 & 75. The barrel is in near excellent condition with a mostly dark bore showing light pitting near the muzzle and a plum-brown exterior with crisp markings and tiny nicks and contusions from years of use and a later nipple. A great barrel for a restoration project or the start of a new one.
