Adolf Hitler Fuhrer Standard Double Sided Banner
Description:
This Hitler Banner came from what looked like an estate sale of similar items but only one of these. This particular design is not available to buy anywhere I can locate on the internet, there are some similar banners available but not this particular design. This was listed as a 'Double Sided German Flag'. This Adolf Hitler Fuhrer Standard banner is exceptionally well made having machine thread stitching, machine thread embroidery, hand bullion embroidery and hand thread highlight stitching used to assemble this. This has a unique pattern to any other Hitler Banner I can locate, as original or reproduction. On this banner, the design is arranged on the obverse and reverse in such a way that the eagles remain opposed directly to each other Army to Army and Political to Political viewing the banner from either side. There is a machine embroidered black border cross stitch embroidered along the outside of the swastika arms parallel to the tress. The tress is machine stitched to the black tape swastika which seems to have been applied to the white oval background cloth. There is some type of stiffener material sandwitched between both sides of the banner that has warped slightly and distorted the form of the swastika to some degree. There are only pictures of line drawings I can find showing this flag so this may only be a high quality museum copy. Any information beyond what I think and know will be appreciated. Mark
