Excellent example of a Civil War U.S.Navy issued sword . Made by Ames Co . Chickopee , Mass. dated 1862 . Sword has all the correct civil war markings and military inspector marks . Blade measures 26" and measures Apx. 32" overall . Leather scabbard is correct but it's a reproduction! Its exactly made as they made the original scabbard in 1862 ! Unbelievable quality scabbard! Blade is in excellent condition! Handle is missing the wire . The leather is all there and in very good overall condition . Brass handle has a nice mellow patina . Super nice Civil War Original !
