WW1 and WW2 Australian Pattern 1907 Lee-Enfield Bayonet
Description: This is a 1907 marked, “(Crown) / GR" marked bayonet that measures 21 3/4" overall, with a 17" blade having wide single fullers. In addition to the British military proofs, the ricasso reverse is stamped with a “2 18" issue date, and a partial maker’s name: “(AN)DERSON". The blade has a mottled gray-brown patina, and was sharpened along the edge. The hilt has Australian “3 D^D" property marks stamped into the edge of the crossguard on the obverse, and a “D (Broad Arrow)" stamp on the pommel. The walnut grip panels have light-moderate handling marks and surface blemishes. The scabbard has a 1943 date, and is ruddy-brown in color with original dark matte finish on the metal furniture. A naval pattern canvas frog is fitted. This is a fine Pattern ’07 bayonet, issued during both World Wars, and with desirable Australian property markings. SOLD Manufacturer: Enfield Model: Bayonet |
