Springfield M1 Garand Tanker Barrel

PRICED REDUCED - This is a genuine 1943 M1 Garand Springfield barrel that has been converted to an 18 inch M1 Garand Tanker barrel. Included is a period correct gas cylinder with the correct sight, cylinder lock and cylinder lock screw.

This barrel has a manufactured date of 6-43 which would make it rare, even if it wasn't cut to 18 inches. The bore is bright and shiny with a muzzle wear of less than "0". It appears to have never been on a rifle. I have no idea who cut this barrel to 18 inches. According to my gunsmith, the work was done professionally. Was it done by Springfield at their factory? I have no knowledge of who did the work. If you have a 1943 Springfield receiver you could make a wonderful conversation piece.

Please look at pictures closely and ask questions. I make no warranty whatsoever concerning the future use or performance of this barrel. I have never had it on a rifle. From what I have read there were problems with the M1 Tanker Garands, and they were never put in service.
