This is an Extremely RARE fully transferrable Colt factory M16A1 Model 621 5.56mm 20-inch heavy barreled machinegun in excellent condition. The Model 621 has a Colt factory installed barrel lug that allows for its M60 bipod to be attached. The gun was purchased NIB in 1991 and since then less than 300 rounds were fired through it. The box is marked M16A1 and has a bar code with Serial Number 9453874.
NOTE: With the exception of the barrel wick, absolutely everything that came in this original box is included in this listing. I.e., the original box, the M60 bipod, the birdcage flash hider, the plastic bag with all the original accessories, the plastic gun bag the gun was shipped in, the anti-corrosion foil found in the gun bag, the orange plastic bolt carrier block and the black plastic flash hider cap.
NOTE ALSO: Prior to its first firing, the original owner took the accessories bag, birdcage flash hider and split lock ring, M60 bipod, orange plastic bolt carrier block, plastic bag the M16A1 was wrapped in, the anti-corrosion foil that had been placed over the bolt carrier area inside the gun bag, and the black plastic muzzle cap were all set aside and carefully placed into storage. They are all included here and are as they were received from the Colt factory. For the first firing, a recoil compensator was attached to the barrel in place of the M16A1 birdcage flash hider. Model 621 History:
During the 1970s and 1980s, Colt wanted to sell not just standard M16 rifles and CAR-15 carbines to foreign military customers, but also wanted to supply squad automatic LMG heavy barreled support weapons with a factory mounted M60 bipod for stability and longer-range applications. They put together the Model 621, aka M16A1 “HBAR” (Heavy Barreled Assault Rifle – to fill the gap for a much-needed sustained firepower automatic weapon between the standard carry M16A1 and the M60. It was a sort of LMG sister to the M16A1 rifle. It was essentially the exact same idea as the RPK – a support machine gun with parts interchangeability and identical handling to the standard infantry rifle. A small number were made in the 9 million serial number range, but no contracts were ever made to sell them in significant numbers. A few, like this one, eventually came out of Colt and into the civilian collectors’ market. Because of the M60 bipod lug, an M16A1 bayonet cannot be attached.
The top of the heavy barrel just behind the front sight is stamped with “C MP CHROME BORE”. This started in 1974 and after serial number 4,900,000 chrome bores were marked C MP CHROME BORE.
This M16A1 also has a “CS” raised stamp on the rifle stock. The history of the Colt CS stock goes back to World War II and originates with the Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk I rifle as used by the Canadian military. The C with a ‘nestled’ S is an abbreviation from the French / English combination of Court / Short. Court is the French word for the English word short. Not sure exactly what year that the Colt CS stock became available in the United States. Information on the internet indicates that the stocks appeared around 1991. The Colt CS stock is popular for being made from the more durable A2 rifle stock materials but maintaining the A1 rifle stock length. The ‘trap door’ on the CS stock storage compartment is a metal assembly. The inner compartment is yellow to facilitate seeing items stored inside.

This is an Extremely RARE fully transferrable Colt factory M16A1 Model 621 5.56mm 20-inch heavy barreled machinegun in excellent condition. The Model 621 has a Colt factory installed barrel lug that allows for its M60 bipod to be attached. The gun was purchased NIB in 1991 and since then less than 300 rounds were fired through it. The box is marked M16A1 and has a bar code with Serial Number 9453874.
NOTE: With the exception of the barrel wick, absolutely everything that came in this original box is included in this listing. I.e., the original box, the M60 bipod, the birdcage flash hider, the plastic bag with all the original accessories, the plastic gun bag the gun was shipped in, the anti-corrosion foil found in the gun bag, the orange plastic bolt carrier block and the black plastic flash hider cap.
NOTE ALSO: Prior to its first firing, the original owner took the accessories bag, birdcage flash hider and split lock ring, M60 bipod, orange plastic bolt carrier block, plastic bag the M16A1 was wrapped in, the anti-corrosion foil that had been placed over the bolt carrier area inside the gun bag, and the black plastic muzzle cap were all set aside and carefully placed into storage. They are all included here and are as they were received from the Colt factory. For the first firing, a recoil compensator was attached to the barrel in place of the M16A1 birdcage flash hider. Model 621 History:
During the 1970s and 1980s, Colt wanted to sell not just standard M16 rifles and CAR-15 carbines to foreign military customers, but also wanted to supply squad automatic LMG heavy barreled support weapons with a factory mounted M60 bipod for stability and longer-range applications. They put together the Model 621, aka M16A1 “HBAR” (Heavy Barreled Assault Rifle – to fill the gap for a much-needed sustained firepower automatic weapon between the standard carry M16A1 and the M60. It was a sort of LMG sister to the M16A1 rifle. It was essentially the exact same idea as the RPK – a support machine gun with parts interchangeability and identical handling to the standard infantry rifle. A small number were made in the 9 million serial number range, but no contracts were ever made to sell them in significant numbers. A few, like this one, eventually came out of Colt and into the civilian collectors’ market. Because of the M60 bipod lug, an M16A1 bayonet cannot be attached.
The top of the heavy barrel just behind the front sight is stamped with “C MP CHROME BORE”. This started in 1974 and after serial number 4,900,000 chrome bores were marked C MP CHROME BORE.
This M16A1 also has a “CS” raised stamp on the rifle stock. The history of the Colt CS stock goes back to World War II and originates with the Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk I rifle as used by the Canadian military. The C with a ‘nestled’ S is an abbreviation from the French / English combination of Court / Short. Court is the French word for the English word short. Not sure exactly what year that the Colt CS stock became available in the United States. Information on the internet indicates that the stocks appeared around 1991. The Colt CS stock is popular for being made from the more durable A2 rifle stock materials but maintaining the A1 rifle stock length. The ‘trap door’ on the CS stock storage compartment is a metal assembly. The inner compartment is yellow to facilitate seeing items stored inside.
