JOS GLOCHER .50 CALIBER
Description: This percussion long gun, made by Ichabod Allen with Jos Golcher locks, sits in a half length stock with a 32 inch barrel. The barrel starts as a full octagon but tapers down to round as the forend stops at its silver end cap. The barrel retains the top flat as a full length rib and has a vine engraving over almost half its length. Overall external condition is good to fair, the iron is faded do a consistent brown with no major marks on its exterior and the stock has no major cracks aside from a few forming around the lock and through bolt and some possible dry rot near the nipple. The internal condition however is somewhat different, if the bore was originally rifled it is no longer the case, and there is other corrosion present as well inside the bore, making the barrel useless for future use. The hammer, although functional seems to have worn out sears, and will occasionally drop without notice, signaling the presense of internal lock damage. The barrel also appears to be missing its retaining pin in the forend, meaning it will lift out under pressure.
