INTERESTING EARLY FRONTIER STYLE TAKE DOWN SHOT GUN
Description: 30 inch octagon barrel. Receiver is a crudely made of brass that resembles an 86 Winchester. Buttplate is brass as well. Pistol grip stock that is quite rough. The action doesn't seem to function. Anyone out on the frontier would have been in a jam with this. Interesting Frontier History from the previous owner states the gun belonged to Ned Christie of Fort Smith Arkansas. Christie was a Frontiersman and buffalo hunter. He was falsely accused of killing a US Marshall in 1887. He escaped from the law and was on the run for many years until being killed by a posse in 1892. True or not is anyone's guess. It's a rough looking gun with no finish to speak of but is still a real curiosity piece representing our Frontier History..
