“SUPERPOSED” Multi-Shot MATCHLOCK Indian TORADOR Musket Asia Rare, Fascinating Multi-charge, Single Barrel Musket!
Description: “SUPERPOSED” Multi-Shot MATCHLOCK Indian TORADOR Musket Asia Rare, Fascinating Multi-charge, Single Barrel Musket! Here we present an antique Superposed Matchlock Military Musket, made circa the 18th Century in India. This was a more refined matchlock musket that utilized a lock and trigger mechanism instead of the more primitive hand-held match. This example also features a superposed load, which is a method used in muzzleloaders to make a single-barreled projectile be capable of firing multiple times without stopping for a reload. In this case, it was accomplished by stacking the loads within the bore. Each powder charge would line up with the corresponding flash hole, so that when the lit match hit the flash pan the charge would go off, first the charge in front, then the shooter could ignite the rear charge safely. This was a risky proposition though, as chain-fires could occur and blow up the musket and maim the shooter. Such guns are extremely rare, from anywhere. The overall condition is good. The action functions. The bore is smooth and dark. Here is an interesting piece of early firearms history for display! We’ve yet to see another like it! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 46-3/4 inches. Caliber: .52 Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE.
