Only known admission ticket to the Cole Younger & Frank James Historical Wild West Show
Description: Frank & Jesse James and Cole Younger fought with the bushwackers of Quantrell and Bloody Bill Anderson's confederate raiders during the civil war and formed a legendary outlaw gang after the war. Cole Younger & Frank James were the only two core members of the James/Younger gang still alive in 1903. After Cole Younger was released from prison for the Northfield robbery the two aging gunfighters got together for one last hurrah and "THE GREAT COLE YOUNGER & FRANK JAMES HISTORICAL WILD WEST SHOW" hit the road in Mar. 1903 This is a wonderful lot of three pieces of James/Younger Wild West show artifacts. Extremely rare lithographed stationary and an admission ticket to the Indian Museum attraction. No other admission tickets of any kind are known for this wild west show. Other examples of the the stationary are know but they are very rare and never come up for sale. The last two photo's are of Cole Younger with some x-confederates at a reunion which took place on the fairgrounds. The last image is Frank James riding his favorite white horse during a parade on a mainstreet of an unknown city. These images are not included. Condition is very good overall: The stationary envelope is 9 x 4 inches long and the ticket is 2 x 3-1/2 inches made of thick, mustard colored, card stock. SOLD |
