Jesse James & Cole Younger gang - Cole Younger Parole report - Quantrill's Guerrillas - Civil War veterans
Description: This is the only known Cole Younger Parole report in private hands. It was purchased from well known antique photograph collector Bob McCubbin. In 1901 Cole and Jim Younger were released from prison on parole after serving 25 years for their part in the Northfield Bank Robbery in 1876. Cole was granted a pardon in 1903 and left Minn. for his home in Missouri. He almost immediatly got together with his old comrade Frank James and the "COLE YOUNGER & FRANK JAMES WILD WEST SHOW" went on the road in March of 1903. Monthly Parole report by Cole Younger No. 699 paroled July 14 1901. A very interesting and pleasant account of Cole Younger's time since being released from prison, in his own hand. He writes of working for the chief of police in St. Paul and attending a wild west show. He states, "Surroundings good, Prospects bright". Signed twice by the famous outlaw and dated Aug. 1902. And signed at the botton by Police Chief John J. O'Connor. In the last image Cole Younger gets top billing in the Movie "THE GREAT NORTHFIELD MINNESOTA RAID". The original movie poster is included SOLD |
