WW2 German Third Reich Insignia
Description: Four pieces in all: 1) an original black woolen felt shoulder board for a chief in the KM staffing office with a gold cloth tape border, twin rank pips, and specialist emblem (crossed anchors). The tape border is in excellent shape with some mild stains around the inner edge and the metal devices are still mostly bright. 2) a felt-backed rank chevron for a hauptgefreiter consisting of three nested "V" shaped cloth tape stripes on a navy blue felt backing piece that has faded to a dark green color over time. The chevrons are in excellent condition with a few very minor moth holes on the back. 3) an embroidered naval breast eagle in yellow thread on a black background in excellent shape with only some minor stains visible on the yellow threads. 4) a large metal specialist's sleeve insignia for a radio operator which measures 2 1/4" high and consists of an anchor with superimposed lightning bolt. The device has traces of the original gilt finish but has now turned to a mostly dark gray patina with a swatch of black felt as backing. SOLD Manufacturer: German Model: Insignia |
