1948 Dated CAI Post-World War II Era M1 GARAND Infantry Style Modern Rifle
"The greatest battle implement ever devised"- George Patton
Description: 1948 Dated CAI Post-World War II Era M1 GARAND Infantry Style Modern Rifle "The greatest battle implement ever devised"- George Patton Here we present a Modern CAI M1 Garand Rifle, manufactured circa the early to mid-1970s in St. Albans, Vermont. CAI M1 Garands were often built using USGI parts or were imported from Italy where Beretta was building M1s for European countries after World War II. This rifle has USGI Springfield parts and a CAI stamped receiver. The .30-06 caliber semi-automatic rifle was that standard U.S. service rifle during World War II and the Korean War and also saw service during the Vietnam War. Most were issued to U.S. forces, though some were also provided as foreign aid to American allies. To say that it was and is highly regarded would be an understatement. In the words of General Patton, “In my opinion, the M1 rifle is the greatest battle implement ever devised.” The M1 Garand was the first standard issue semi-automatic United Stated military rifle, and by most accounts, performed well. The M1 replaced the bolt action M1903 Springfield as the standard U.S. service rifle in 1936 and was itself replaced by the selective fire M14 rifle in March of 1958. Although, some Garands were still being used by the United States into the Vietnam War in 1963, despite the M14 being adopted 5 years earlier. It wasn’t until 1965 that the changeover from the M1 was fully completed in the active duty component of the Army. The Garand remained in service with the Army Reserve, Army National Guard, and the Navy into the early 1970s. Production of the M1 Garand was stopped in the early months of 1957. The overall condition is fine. Strong action. Semi-bright bore. Sold stock throughout with average wear. Legible markings. Some parts are either replaced or refinished. The canvas sling is good. “MADE IN AMERICA” and “CAI” marked receiver. This firearm is classified as Modern. Barrel is 24 inches. Caliber: .30-06 Springfield Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL. This firearm is classified as Modern. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1850 #226715 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
