**SOLD** 1962 Vintage Smith & Wesson Model 53 Revolver in .22 Jet w/ .22 LR Factory Inserts ** 6" Pinned Barrel & Handsome Walnut Target Grips **

Description:
**SOLD**This is a very nice all-original S&W Model 53 (no dash) revolver in it's original factory gloss blue finish and fitted with a 6" inch pinned barrel.  This Model 53 is a no-dash model and was manufactured in 1962.  It features a pinned front sight on a serrated ramp, an adjustable target-style rear sight, a factory S&W target-type hammer and target-type trigger, a set of factory-original checkered American Walnut Target grips with S&W medallions, and is chambered in .22 Remington Jet.  This 4-screw Model 53 (1960-1962 vintage) is in excellent all-original condition, retaining 95-97% of the orignal blue, with most of what little visible wear to the finish there is at the muzzle, and a few minor scratches on the left side of the barrel.  The bore looks as-new pristine, and the action is smooth, slick, and is perfectly "in time" in double and single action operation.  All of the controls on the gun are in perfect working order, including the selectable nose on the hammer allowing it to fire both the centerfire .22 Jet cartridge and the rimfire .22 LR cartridge (when using the chamber inserts).  The handsome light honey brown-colored American Walnut factory target grips match each other perfectly, fit nice and tight to the gun, and are in very fine / excellent condition overall.  The only deductions come from a few tiny handling marks, located mostly on the bottom of the grips where they are not normally seen.  This neat S&W Model 53 comes with six of the original factory-supplied .22 LR conversion inserts, also in great condition.  As you can see from the pictures, the Model 53 is certainly a unique and interesting model, and while .22 Jet ammo might be harder to find than many others calibers, the inserts that come with it let you shoot plentiful and cheap .22 LR thru it when you don't need the extra speed and power of the .22 Jet loading.   Sorry, no box or factory paper-work.                                                      CURIO & RELIC                                                                                      PRICE:     SOLD                                                 We are Antique & Modern Firearms in Lexington, KY, a dealer of fine firearms since 1974.                    PH. 859-276-1419         We Buy, Sell, and Trade Firearms & Knives.    Do you have an Individual Firearm,  Firearms Collection, or Firearms Estate to sell?  Give us a call or send an email, and we can talk about buying the item(s) outright or selling them on consignment for you.                   NOTE:  No additional fee for a Credit Card payment.
