While we proudly outfit the line with quintessentially American brands, we’re pleased to report that our choice – the CZ 457 Lux – already has a solid reputation among discerning shooters here in the States. The 457’s quality, features, ergonomics and accuracy make this .22 exceptionally well-suited to American tastes.
Action
The 457’s receiver is color case hardened using our restoration-grade, bone charcoal method. Our signature process imparts a range of blues and blondes rarely seen on modern firearms, a spectrum simply not achievable through other means of case hardening. The receiver’s slotted design provides shorter bolt travel and a smaller footprint compared to its Model 455 predecessor. It’s been slab-sided as well to further reduce weight. The 457’s designers also changed the bolt throw from 90 to 60 degrees, reducing the risk of interfering with optics should you choose that option over the rifle’s factory iron sights.
