Rare WAR of 1812 US CONTRACT WATERS & Co. Model 1808 FLINTLOCK Musket Musket Made in Sutton, Massachusetts Circa 1812
Description: Rare WAR of 1812 US CONTRACT WATERS & Co. Model 1808 FLINTLOCK Musket Musket Made in Sutton, Massachusetts Circa 1812 Here we present an antique Waters & Co. Flintlock Musket, manufactured circa 1812 in Sutton, Massachusetts from the lot of 4,270 Springfield Armory pattern muskets manufactured by Elijah and Asa Waters. Waters was one of 19 gunmakers contracted to manufacture the Model 1808. They were contracted to manufacture 5,000 muskets in total but fell short of the complete order, making these quite rare. The barrel, lock and iron furniture are finished bright. There is a bayonet lug mounted on the underside of the barrel. The lower sling swivel is mounted on a stud ahead of the trigger guard and the trigger guard has pointed finials. The barrel bands are secured by springs behind the bands. Mounted with a full one-piece black walnut stock. “RWH” appears to be hand engraved on the left stock. “W” is stamped on the bottom of the buttstock. “1812” and “SUTTON” are marked on the lock. The overall condition is very good. The action is as strong as ever. The bore is smooth and dark. The stock is solid and stood the test of time well. Here is a great early American flintlock musket that was made in the first year of the War of 1812 when Britain came back for another row. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 44 inches. Caliber: .64 Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $3245 #20349 SOLD Antique: Yes |
