Turkish Model 98/38 Mauser Rifle
Description: Serial# 8193, 7.92mm Mauser, 24 1/8" barrel with a fair-good bore that has dark freckling within the grooves. This is a 1945 dated, reworked rifle that has retained 80-85% of the arsenal re-applied blue finish with silvering at the muzzle and on the high edges and projections. The mis-matched bolt has a dark gray patina with numerous small impact marks on the knob and turned-down handle. A small Navy Arms import mark is present on the right side of the barrel near the muzzle. The walnut stock and handguard have scattered small handling marks and minor blemishes in the slightly glossy, armory-added varnish. The cleaning rod is no longer present. This is a nice example of a Turkish Mauser that underwent WW2 era overhaul, and rates good-very good condition overall.
