Quality Consignments Wanted! This shotgun was produced in 1909. The Shotgun's serial number is 71188. This is a full choked solid rib factory engraved shotgun. According to Remington's records the engraver was one of two engravers. The engravers were Owne Delange and Joe Loy. The 28 inch barrel is hand engraved with the full choke listing. The barrel is also serial numbered to the receiver. The bore is bright with no pitting. The breech area is engraved on each side of the rib. The forend cap is also engraved. The stock and forend is serial numbered to the receiver. The receiver serial number is hand engraved. There are no alterations or repairs done to this shotgun. The engraving coverage on the receiver would rate a 3/4 coverage. There is also engraving on the back of the "hump". The butt plate is original to this gun. The action works perfectly. The engraving is of very high quality and very pleasing to look at. This shotgun shows field use and wear. This gun shows signs of being well cared for. The original finish would rate a 93% overall condition. The wood varnish would rate a 94% condition. The checkering is clean and sharp. The forend has no cracks or splits. This is a very collectable early Remington shotgun. Being factory engraved in it's original unaltered condition is a real find!
