Antique French Charleville 1763 Musket Used by Patriots during American Revolution
Description: Antique French Charleville Model 1763 Musket Sold to the Rebels During the American Revolutionary War Here we present an antique Charleville Model 1763 Flintlock Musket, made in France circa 1763. In the United States, the Charleville is perhaps most famous for its use against the British colonists during the French and Indian War—part of the Seven Years War—and then in the colonists hands against Britain during the American Revolutionary War. In fact, over 100,000 Charleville muskets were purchased by the American Colonies, making this one of the primary weapons in the conflict. The Charleville was highly desired and said to have out-performed the British Brown Bess. The musket had such an impact on the Americans that their first domestically made muskets were patterned on the Charleville. This specimen is in good condition. The metal surfaces’ patina appears untouched and is a very nice, dark brown color. A small star is present on the left side of the breech. The stock is interestingly marked on each side with crescent moon shapes. There are spots of shallow dishing near the wrist and on the top of the butt. Bore is fair. The action is in good condition. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. These are difficult to find and a must have for your Revolutionary War collection! Barrel is 45 inches in length. Caliber: .69 Bore is in fair condition and the action is good. Overall condition as seen in photos. Here is an excellent Charleville with tons of historical significance for your distinguished collection. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $6000 #10304 SOLD Antique: Yes |
