With the holidays around the corner and our shopping in full swing let us try to help steer you in the right direction for that difficult-to-buy-for outdoorsman. All of which can be found on GunsInternational.com.
Cleaning supplies are always an easy option that every gun enthusiast needs. Even if it is as small as some more CLP oil or some of the coveted Hoppe's #9, all the way up to an entire kit for cleaning that would cover multiple calibers. It's an item that will not break the bank and you can be sure they will put it to good use.
Holsters are something that are also affordable and used daily by the loved one you're buying for. I would take a look at what they currently use for a holster and maybe ask them what they like and dislike about it. You might even get lucky and have them tell you, “I really like this one but I've been wanting to get ___________.“
AMMO, AMMO, AMMO, ask anyone who shoots for a hobby and they will tell you that they miss pre-COVID pricing, because of this anyone who shoots will be ecstatic to receive ammo as a gift. Gifting ammo is like gifting hours of enjoyment to that individual's favorite hobby. Just make sure you are buying the correct caliber. You can look at boxes of ammo they currently have, or it will be listed on the firearm usually at the base of the barrel.
Now for some of the more expensive gifts that will be sure to blow the socks of the person receiving them.
Optics, whether it's the new Trijicon RMRcc for their carry gun, or a new scope for their rifle, there are plenty of options, and I’m sure you’d be able to find one that would fit their needs perfectly.
Storage cases, bags, or even safes could be a great gift. A good safe isn’t only to keep the guns organized and protected from theft, it is also keeping the collection safe from fire. With most higher-end safes having an hour or 90 minute fire rating.
Knives, a good knife is something that most of us in the firearm industry carry with us daily, the purpose we carry one may be different. I carry one as a tool and to help with any boxes that may come my way, whereas someone else may carry theirs as a defense option. You would simply buy according to how they use their current knife! You can never go wrong with a nice Benchmade knife.
Last but certainly not least is going to be firearms for gifts. For this there is some legality involved. First and foremost, if you want to gift a firearm but don’t know where to start and/or don’t feel comfortable buying a firearm you can always reach out to your loved one's favorite GunsInternational.com retailer and ask about purchasing them a gift certificate.
You can buy a gun and gift it to a friend or family member, provided you follow the legal requirements for transferring a gun to another private party. Some states require that transfer to go through a Federal Firearms License (FFL) dealer for a background check; in most states, private individuals are free to buy and sell guns to each other without this step. I would double-check your local laws on the ATF's website.
Also, if you happen to be gifting someone their first firearm, I would also consider following up their gift with some beginner shooting classes to help teach safety as well as a lockbox for safe storage!
From our Guns International family to yours, we want to wish everyone happy holidays and a Merry Christmas!
