Browning Auto 5 Grade 3, 16 Gauge
Description:
This is the first Grade 3 Browning Auto5 that we have ever had. It is a great example of the early engraving that is found on Browning firearms from the 1940's. Although unsigned the engraving could have been done by Felix Funken, who was FN's Master Engraver at the time. The style of the ducks shows all of his signature style. The special order high grade French walnut stock has a straight grip and a raised cheekpiece. The barrel has a solid rib, is 25 1/2 inches long and is cylinder bore. There are five dogs, 9 birds and a dog portrait featured in the engraving. In our opinion this is a proffessional refinish, but it is so well done and aged so well that it is hard to be sure. All of the engraving remains sharp and distinct. There are not many of these Grade 3's in existence, and finding one for sale is VERY hard! PRICE: $1,995 We are Antique & Modern Firearms in Lexington, KY, dealer of fine firearms since 1974. PH. 859-276-1419 We Buy, Sell and Trade. Have a firearms collection to sell, let us know. (sales at am-firearms)
