Pre-War Smith & Wesson M&P .38 Special Revolver
Description: If you have been looking for a true classic that you can also shoot, this pre-WW2 Smith & Wesson revolver would be an excellent choice. This Military & Police Model S&W is chambered in .38 Special and exhibits all the qualities and fine workmanship that these 5-screw Smiths are known for. It has 80% of the original high polish factory blue finish remaining and a nice honest look to it. At least half of the missing/thinning finish on this revolver is the result of flaking rather than wear from handling and use. Both the hammer and trigger show faint original case colors. The bore is excellent in both the barrel and the cylinder bores. The rifling is strong with no signs of pitting or erosion. All of the screws are nice and clean with no buggered slots. While the checkered Walnut grips are the correct style and they are factory originals, they do not number to this M&P. They are in great shape with no cracks or repairs, and the checkering is still sharp. Everything on this M&P works 100% like it did when it left the Smith & Wesson factory. The action feels smooth in both single and double action like only these hand fit Smith's can be. The action locks up nice and tight and the trigger breaks cleanly. This would be an excellent M&P Model Smith to take to the range or the farm and shoot; and it would be a nice addition to any budding collection of classic pre-war revolvers. Priced to sell.
