Copy of the Colt 1877 Lightning
Description: This revolver was manufactured in Belgium by an unknown maker and is a copy of the Colt 1877 Lightning, and marketed in the US in the late 19th century. Mechanically it stands up better than the Lightning. It is a 6 shot double action with a 5 1/2 inch Barrel. The finish shows 100% original nickel. The original bone grips are intact with a repaired chip on the right grip but no cracks. The bore is bright and shinny with no pitting and very strong rifling. It is mechanically perfect and lock up is tight. Chambered for the .38 Long Colt Cartridge. It will also fire the .38 Short Colt cartridge. There are some manufacturers of Cowboy Action Shooting ammunition that produce both the .38 Long and Short cartridges. The left side of the barrel is marked "TEXAS RANGER."
